More Goods Eligible for Zero Tariff under CEPA from July 2015

The Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council decided to implement zero tariff on three items of goods originated from Hong Kong and four from Macau for which the agreements have been reached on the relevant rules of origin (ROOs). The new ROOs will take effect from 1 July 2015.

According to the latest announcement of the Ministry of Finance, the document issued by the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council to the General Administration of Customs indicates that in line with the provisions of the Mainland-Hong Kong and Mainland-Macau Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) and its supplementary agreements, the State Council will grant zero tariff treatment to the following seven tariff items under CEPA with effect from July.

The three goods originated from Hong Kong are chloroform (tariff code 29031300), cotton wadding (56012100) and hearing aids (90214000). The four goods originated from Macau are centrifugal ventilators (84145930), machinery and equipment for making hot drinks or for cooking or heating food (84198100), other industrial dust collectors for industry uses (84213929), and other filtering or purifying machinery and apparatus for gases (84213990).
