TDC will stage Food Expo and Twin Medicine and Health Care Fairs in August

Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC), the 17th Food Expo will be staged at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from August 17 - 21. Last year, the expo attracted over 300,000 visitors. A total of 325 food manufacturers and suppliers are joining the expo this year, an 8% increase over last year. Apart from Hong Kong, exhibitors from Australia, Canada, the Chinese mainland, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, the U.S. and Vietnam will bring delicacies from all parts of the world to visitors.

While satisfying one's palate, the organiser also promotes the importance of health on the same occasion. The 1st "Hong Kong International Medical & Health Care Fair" and the 5th "International Conference & Exhibition of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products" (ICMCM) will be held concurrently with Food Expo.

Food Expo will be staged at Hall 1 and 2. At Hall 1, there will be 7 zones, making it easier for visitors to search for their targets:

1. Health and Organic Food
2. Bakery Products & Sauces
3. Beverages and Restaurants
4. Biscuits, Snacks & Dairy Products
5. Canned, Frozen and Convenience Food
6. Trade Associations and Others
7. Alcoholic Beverages

At Hall 2, there will be International Exhibitors including Group Pavilions of the Chinese mainland, Korea, Japan, Italy, Vietnam, Green Food, Candy Food and Procurement Square.

Apart from promoting international delicacies to the public, the TDC will set up a "trade hall" again at Food Expo (located at Hall 2), featuring all exhibitors from outside Hong Kong and some local exhibitors (about 140 in total). The trade hall will be open only to trade buyers on the first two days, giving them a one-stop sourcing opportunity. Exhibitors can promote their products to food distributors, importers and supermarkets and conduct business discussions with them to expand their distribution network and secure bulk orders.

The trade hall will be open to public from August 19 - 21. Exhibitors can then test consumers' response to their products directly.
