TDC welcomes Financial Secretary's budget speech
The speech sends a clear and assuring message to the local and international business sectors that Hong Kong, as the world's freest economy, will continue to maintain a market-led economy, a strict fiscal discipline, and a low and simple tax regime.
The new initiatives will not only help facilitate the long-term growth of the city's economy, but will also reinforce our competitive edge in the sectors of financial services, trade and logistics to add value to business between China and the rest of the world.
The Government's assistance in creative industries and applied technology will help power the city's future growth by generating higher value from technology, creativity and innovation, complementing the merchandise and service trades that have driven Hong Kong's development over the past four decades.
Aligned with this, HKTDC has developed a set of activities to promote Hong Kong's external trade in services and products, with special focus on promoting Hong Kong brands, creative industries and increasing awareness of Hong Kong as a technology marketplace.
Highlights of HKTDC programmes this year include the first-ever Hong Kong brands promotion at the Canton Fair to be held in April, the third Entertainment Expo to be opened on March 20, the Inno Design Tech Expo in December, and the organisation of some 30 international trade fairs in Hong Kong as well as over 300 promotion events all around the world.
