TDC Chairman spreads HK message to 600 Italian SMEs

Hong Kong's dynamic business platform can offer Italian SMEs unlimited advantages as a springboard to the Chinese mainland, and its role as a "shop window" for mainland consumers is exciting news for Italian luxury brands, according to Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) Chairman Peter Woo.

Mr Woo was the keynote speaker at business luncheons in Milan and Rome (18 & 19 January respectively) titled "Hong Kong: Turning China into Opportunity". Some 400 people attended the event in Milan, while more than 200 participants came to the luncheon in Rome.

Total trade between Hong Kong and Italy reached US$6.1 billion from January - November 2005, up 10.1 per cent over the same period last year.
