The two fairs, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), are presenting the latest electronics products, alongside innovative information and communication technology products, giving buyers a wide variety of sourcing opportunities across the two sectors.

Brand Showcase
Asia’s largest spring electronics show, the Electronics Fair features group pavilions from the mainland, Korea and Taiwan. Highlights include the new Bags and Cases zone, located in Hall 5G. The fair’s Hall of Fame returns with some 500 leading brands, including Coby, Coway, Goodway, Haier, Lenco, Otic, TCL, Telefunken and new exhibitors Polaroid and Promate.

Creative Zones
At the Invention Zone, in the Hall 5FG Concourse, patent-registered or patent-pending products from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and Korea are on display. The Mobile Devices & Accessories zone features more than 100 exhibitors, while the popular Small-Order Zone, located at the Expo Drive Entrance, offers buyers more than 320 product showcases.

Special fair events include product-launching sessions and networking events. Seminars range from smart device, wireless charging, innovation strategies and consumer electronics trends to testing and certification in Hong Kong and regulations for exporting products to Japan.

ICT Expo Turns 10
The Hong Kong International ICT Expo turns 10 this year in fine fashion, welcoming more than 600 exhibitors from around the world, a new exhibitor record for the fair. Group pavilions from Australia, Canada, the Chinese mainland, India, New Zealand and Taiwan are participating.

The expo’s new Apps zone brings together buyers and mobile app experts. Returning are the Business Apps on Cloud & Mobile zone, featuring the latest cloud-computing solutions, and the Home-grown Innovations zone, showcasing innovations from the Hong Kong Science & Technology Park, Cyberport, local tertiary and research institutions and Hong Kong ICT Award winners. The SME IT Clinic offers free IT consultancy services to buyers, exhibitors and fair visitors.

In the Clouds
The fair’s opening-day programme includes two forums on cloud applications. Two forums also take place Monday afternoon, one focusing on Canadian technology partnering, the other on Shenzhen-Hong Kong e-commerce opportunities. Seminars over the expo’s four days examine software copyright practices, social media, retail innovation, smartphones and tablets, and other industry trends and issues.
