Spotlight on Green Tech at Eighth Eco Expo Asia
Building Fair, Sports Source Asia also Set to Open this Month
Eco Asia Conference
Fair highlights will include the Eco Asia Conference, 28-30 October. The conference’s first day will spotlight the Chinese mainland’s latest green policies and environmental business opportunities. Waste management and recycling will be the conference focus on day two (29 October), while sustainable energy and energy efficiency, as well as green buildings, will dominate day-three discussions. The Italian Trade Commission will also organise a seminar, 29 October, on Research & Innovation for Sustainable Growth.
Twelve pavilions will take part, including those from Canada, Germany, Japan, Macau and Russia, along with four Chinese mainland pavilions. Hong Kong’s Environmental Protection Department, Green Technology Consortium and Green Council will also feature pavilions.
Environmental protection offerings will be on display in eight zones: Air & Water Quality; the Business of IP; Eco-Excellence; Eco-friendly Products; Energy Efficiency & Energy; Green Building Solutions & Services; Testing, Inspection & Certification; and Waste Management & Recycling. The latter will feature more than 50 exhibitors showcasing solutions in areas ranging from solid waste to food and water waste.
Public Day will take place 31 October. The special day will feature forums focusing on Sham Shui Po’s food-sharing programme, glass-bottle recycling and energy saving via carbon audits. Three green workshops, as well as a Green Mart, will also take place.
Building and Decorating
Also at AsiaWorld-Expo, the HKTDC Hong Kong International Building and Decoration Materials & Hardware Fair will feature more than 150 exhibitors from six countries and regions, including MATRADE, making its debut at the building fair. The three-day show, 28-30 October, will showcase a range of products in special zones, among them Green Building Materials. Other product zones will include: Ceramics, Stone & Marble; Coating & Chemicals; Indoor Decorative Materials; and the World of Building & Decorative Hardware.
Symposiums and Seminars
Industry intelligence is central to the building fair, and this year’s offerings include two symposiums, including one on the certification of buildings for a green environment (28 October). Seminars will focus on interior design (29 October) and property and facility management (30 October). Two exhibitor forums and a buyer forum will also be held.
Sports Source Asia
The seventh HKTDC Sports Source Asia, 29-31 October, will round out events at AsiaWorld-Expo this month. Some 140 exhibitors from five countries and regions will participate in the fair. Product areas will include the new Golf Equipment & Supplies zone. The Premium zone, Outdoor Sports zone, Fitness & Gymnastic Training Equipment zone and Water Sports zone are among the show’s other product areas. Fair highlights will include a 30 October seminar, “Future Gear of Elite Athletes,” as well as a buyer forum, 29 October. A sports parade show will take place each day.
Fencing, Fitness and Shopping
Public Day, 31 October, will feature fencing, fitness and basketball demonstrations, as well as product demonstrations and interactive games. Some product exhibits will be available for sale to the public.
Together, the three fairs are expected to welcome nearly 150 buying missions representing 3,730 companies from 46 countries and regions.
