Peter Woo welcomes the appointment of his successor

September 3, 2007 - Mr Peter Woo, Chairman of the Trade Development Council, today welcomed the Government's appointment of Mr Jack So to succeed him as Chairman from October 1, 2007.

"Mr So is an excellent choice for the chairmanship of the Trade Development Council. He is certainly no stranger to the TDC," Mr Woo said, referring to Mr So's tenure as the organisation's Executive Director from 1985 to 1992.

"Mr So has continued to serve and assist the Council in various advisory roles since 1992. His valuable input and advice over the years has contributed tremendously to the development of the Council's work."

"With his knowledge of the TDC and his extensive experience in the private sector, I am confident that Mr So will take the TDC to the next level," Mr Woo said.
