The event today featured a mini-fashion parade presenting the latest spring/summer collection of Ms Ho, together with Annie Woon’s “WOON WIG WONDERLAND” exhibition, showcasing 20 hairpieces, collectively weighing more than 1,118 kilograms. They include a 1.5-metre-wide wig, recognised today by Guinness World Records as the widest wig in the world. Local radio host Siu Yee (fourth from right), tries it on for size

7 January 2013 - Hong Kong designer Johanna Ho and wig artist Annie Woon took part in an event today at Times Square, in Causeway Bay, as part of “Hong Kong in Fashion,” a city-wide celebration promoting Hong Kong’s role as a regional fashion hub and lifestyle trendsetter.

Wonder Wig

The Times Square event featured a mini-fashion parade presenting the latest spring/summer collection of Ms Ho, together with wigs designed by Ms Woon. More than 20 wigs, each hand-made by Ms Woon, were on display, including a 1.5-metre-wide wig recognised today by Guinness World Records as the widest wig in the world. The public can see the record-breaking wig at Times Square until 23 January. Three accessories workshops will also be held there on 12 January.

Fashion Extravaganza

In addition, a Times Square “Stage of Glamour” display features fashion collections from each of the designers taking part in next week’s Fashion Extravaganza, a highlight of HKTDC World Boutique, Hong Kong. World Boutique and HKTDC Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter will take place, 14-17 January, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Snap Happy

Another Hong Kong in Fashion highlight, the Street Snap Competition, continues through 17 January. Participants need only upload their most stylish pictures on the Hong Kong in Fashion website or via Instagram (#HKinfashion), sharing them with their Facebook friends. The photos that receive the most “likes” wins. Top prize is a night’s stay at the Mira Moon. In all, prizes worth more than HK$100,000 are available; pictures taken at Times Square will bring additional prizes.
