Hong Kong and Vietnam to Cooperate on Trade Promotion Activities

August 9, 2007 - The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday 7th August, agreeing to foster closer cooperation on trade promotion activities.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Doan Duy Khuong, Executive Vice President of VCCI and Mr. Alan Wong, Deputy Executive Director, TDC.

Dr. Doan and Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Chairman and General Director of Automobiles Industry Company of Vietnam and Chairman of the Vietnam-China Business Forum are leading a delegation of 19 representatives from 12 Vietnamese companies to visit Hong Kong from August 4-7. Their objective is to exchange views on areas of economic promotion, and to attend a seminar on "Vietnam: Star of the Southeast Asia Market", also held in Hong Kong on Tuesday (August 7).

The delegates are from a range of industries including automobiles, raw materials, industrial infrastructure, property, textiles and trading.
