HSBC Group Chief: Hong Kong Best Base for Banks
Company’s Group President Douglas Flint to Speak at AFF 2012

   Douglas Flint

12 January 2012 – Hong Kong is a "relevant choice" as a regional and global headquarters for any company, including banks, according to HSBC Group Chairman Douglas Flint.

Speaking ahead of next week’s Asian Financial Forum in Hong Kong, Mr Flint says the city represents "by far the most important operation" for banks in terms of profitability and as a hub for the region and the Chinese mainland.

Mr Flint will speak at the 16-17 January Asian Financial Forum (AFF), organised by the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The fifth forum will take place under the theme “Asia: Driving Sustainable Growth.” Participants will address growth opportunities and challenges in the Asia-Pacific region, and the mainland in particular. The main programme will focus on such issues as global investment prospects, China opportunities, Japan’s reconstruction and green growth initiatives.
