Fifth Premier Asian Licensing Awards Results
M&M's, PostPet, Harry Potter, Hello Kitty and the Little Prince Share the Spotlight

4 July 2008 - Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA), this year's Premier Asian Licensing Awards received nearly 200 applications from 10 countries and regions competing for six awards. The winners, announced at last night's Premier Asian Licensing Awards ceremony are as follows:

Best License (Non-Entertainment) PostPet
Winning Company: Animation International Ltd.
Best License (Entertainment) Harry Potter
Winning Company: Warner Bros. Consumer Products
Best Marketing Campaign in Hong Kong "The Colours of Summer" - Hello Kitty & Friends Gacha
Winning Company: McDonald's Restaurants (Hong Kong) Ltd
Best Licensing Agency MediaLink Animation International Ltd
Property: The Little Prince
Best Asian Property Hello Kitty
Winning Company: Sanrio Co. Ltd

A number of industry players and celebrities were invited to present the Awards. They included: Charles Riotto, President, International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association; Pieter Schats, CEO, Toys LiFung (Asia) Ltd; Alan Siu, Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, HKSAR; Mo Mou and David Leung, designers of the Mascots for the 5th East Asian Games; Raymond Chow, former chairman, HKTDC's Entertainment Industry Advisory Committee; Douglas Glen, CEO and Executive Director, Imagi International Holding's Ltd; Paco Wong, Managing Director, Gold Label Entertainment Ltd; Alex Fong, Artist and well-known designers Dennis Chan, Viveca Chan, Kai Yin Lo and Freeman Lau.

    The Olympic Games has created many opportunities for the licensing industry and a dance performance at yesterday's gala depicted the energy of the upcoming equestrian events in Hong Kong.
