27 October 2009 – The HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) opened today with a record 1,788 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions. The largest exhibition of its kind in Asia and the second-biggest in the world continues through 30 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in downtown Hong Kong.

“The fair benefits from the additional 20,000 square metres of space available with the opening, earlier this year, of the HKCEC expansion,” said Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Assistant Executive Director Raymond Yip. “And a HK$120 million assistance package helps exhibitors and trade buyers attend HKTDC trade fairs during the current financial turmoil.”

Major exhibit categories at this year’s fair range from LED lighting, commercial and household lighting to green lighting, outdoor lighting, and lighting management, design and technology.

The fair welcomes first-time exhibitors from Brazil, Hungary, New Zealand and Poland, and features a new zone called Hall of Aurora.
