30,000 buyers visited Asia's biggest toys fair

Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) join hands to launch a "Reach Out" programme at Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair 2005 to collect toys and games from exhibitors for those in need, especially local children. The programme is strongly supported by both local and overseas exhibitors.

Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair concluded today (January 14) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The four-day event has attracted 29,974 buyers from all over the world, increased by 16.3% over last year.

According to Hong Kong Trade Development Council(TDC), the fair organiser, buyer attendance is as follows:

  • 14,768 buyers from Hong Kong (14.2%more than last year)
  • 15,206 buyers from places outside Hong Kong - (18.3 % more than last year)
  • Top 10 (excluding Hong Kong): the Chinese mainland, Japan, the US, Taiwan, Korea, the UK, Australia, Thailand, Singapore and Germany.

The event this year attracted close to 1,900 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, representing a 5.1% growth. The Fair is the largest of its kind in Asia, and second largest in the world.

Next year's fair will be held from January 10 to 13 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
