Competition is keen in the business service and equipment market. Keeping abreast of the latest market development can help companies reduce costs substantially.

  • Take advantage of special offers: internet service providers often provide bundled offers (package) which include Broadband internet access, fixed line telephone and facsimile units. Value-added services like conference calls and voice mail may also be provided along with a longer term of contract. Remember to ask for details.
  • Don’t waste money on unnecessary telephone lines: the fees for installation and usage of Hong Kong business telephones are charged separately on the main line and the subsidiary lines. Therefore, a system that adequately meets the need should be fine. Alternatively, one may like to reserve one or two telephone lines for expansion in the short run.
  • Make a budget based on affordability: Various types of office equipment and hardware are available in the Hong Kong market. Many of them are new models and pricing is rather flexible. In some traditional industrial and commercial districts, there are also outlets selling second-hand office equipment.
