Guangzhou Offers Training and Incentives to Would-be Hong Kong Entrepreneurs
Suitably qualified individuals working or studying in Guangzhou (including students of Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan origin) considering starting their own business may attend entrepreneurial training courses accredited by the city’s Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. Graduates of the courses in receipt of the relevant certification may then apply for a one-off entrepreneurship training subsidy. Eligible Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan residents may also apply for other employment and entrepreneurship subsidies available within Guangzhou at the same time.
Exact details of the training arrangements and available incentives may be found in the Administrative Measures of Guangzhou for the Utilisation of Employment Subsidies as jointly-issued by the city’s Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and its Financial Affairs Office.
The measures came into effect on 1 April this year and will remain in effect until 31 March 2024.
